Today Dr Foster met the house captains and vice-captains to discuss our charity fund-raising for this term. At the beginning of term the children had chosen WWF as their spring charity, and today they decided that the best way to raise money to support WWF would be to hold a special day towards the end of term when we could all learn more about WWF and the work it does, as well as raising money.
The chosen day is Monday 27th March, and the events which are planned are:
- Come to school dressed as an animal (£2 minimum donation; wear animal onesies, masks, animal print clothing…whatever you like!)
- WWF assembly in the morning
- Cake sale on the day
- Each class to do a WWF activity linked to the curriculum
- Animal themed games at lunchtime
WWF is the world’s leading independent conservation organisation. Its mission is to create a world where people and wildlife can thrive together.
To achieve that mission, WWF is finding ways to help transform the future for the world’s wildlife, rivers, forests and seas; pushing for a reduction in carbon emissions that will avoid catastrophic climate change; and pressing for measures to help people live sustainably, within the means of our one planet.
We’re all really excited about our WWF Day!
