School Hours from September

Jesus said, ‘I am the Good Shepherd… I know my sheep and my sheep know me.’ John 10.14

Thank you to everyone who took part in our consultation process last term about the need to extend school hours slightly from September. Parents, staff and governors shared their thoughts and we have now been able to take a decision. Of course, we can’t please everyone all the time, but we hope that with four months notice the changes won’t be too difficult for anyone. From September our school hours will be: 8:45 am until 3:15 pm for all children from Reception to Year 6.

The arrangements for dropping off in the morning will be as follows:

School gates open at 8:35 am

Registers taken at 8:45 am (gates will close just before 8:45)

Children arriving after the gates close but before 8:55 will be marked as late in the register

Children arriving after 8:55 will receive an unathorised absence mark for the morning session

The changes make sure we meet the requirement that primary age children are in school for 32.5 hours each week.
