Help for refugees from Ukraine
Last week, thanks to your incredible generosity, we collected £538 to support refugees and people impacted by the war in Ukraine. Dr Foster’s office was also filled to bursting with donations of much needed goods, clothing, bedding, and medical products. Everything you gave was taken to a local collection point at Tewin Cowper School, loaded up, and taken across Europe to help refugees from the war. The schools collection in our part of the county is being organised by a Ukrainian parent who has been blown away by the generosity of everybody who has sent things to help.
The collection is still going on, so if you are able to help further, or missed the chance to send something last week, the items needed are:
• Painkillers e.g. paracetamol and other over the counter meds
• Shampoo, soap bars, toothpaste, toothbrush, Hairbrush
• Pillows and pillow cases, duvets, blankets, towels
• Food with a lasting sell by date
• Batteries, Torches, Candles
• Shoes which are warm covered
• Dry Sanitary products, pads, tampons
• Nappies, wet wipes, baby formula
• Colouring pencils, pens, notebooks and envelopes.
We already have several bags ready for delivery and will make another run to Tewin on Friday 25th March, so do please fill Dr Foster’s room all over again!
Comic relief collection
Yesterday, 18th March, our home clothes and red nose day raised £164 for Comic Relief: the children looked great with their red noses, red clothes and other Comic Relief items!
Pet a Pony Day
Back in December, we raised £150 (split equally between the school and Herts Young Homeless) when Janet bought Owen in for Pet a Pony Day. Herts Young Homeless is an independent charity and has been supporting vulnerable people in Hertfordshire since 1998 with a range of free services open to all 16 – 24 year olds who are homeless or threatened with homelessness. They also have a Health Service which has no upper age limit.
Thank you!
