Our School

Headteacher’s Welcome

Welcome to our new Bayford (C of E) Primary and Nursery School website.

Bayford is a Voluntary Controlled Church of England Nursery and Primary School for children from 3 to 11 years old.

Our unique, caring, family atmosphere is rooted in Christian values and seen in our professional relationships with each other, the children and our families. We recognise that education is a partnership between parents, children and school and we are committed to working with you to provide the very best care, nurture and learning experience that can be given, to enable your child to achieve their full potential whilst they are with us.

At our school we aim to provide a lively, creative curriculum to challenge and motivate our pupils and enable them to participate in a range of high quality learning opportunities. We are a small village school with a range of facilities, which include a field, pond and woodland area. These, along with engaging curricular and extra-curricular activities, enhance the opportunities that we can provide for our children. However our greatest resource is our skilled and dedicated staff who work tirelessly to provide the best teaching and learning experiences for each child.

We want our pupils to enjoy coming to school and to be enthusiastic about learning. We will nurture and encourage pupils, determined to inspire them to be active participants in their own development and education, as well as showing a wider understanding of the world.

At Bayford we pride ourselves in our strong home/school relationships. We encourage an open door policy, allowing parents and staff to meet whenever a need arises. We place a high value on establishing close links between home and the school so that we can effectively work together to achieve the best for your child.

We know that children learn best in an ethos of praise, encouragement and challenge. We cannot stress the importance of pastoral care at school and support from home to a young child’s confidence and security. Growing self-esteem allows our children to show respect, take responsibility and have self-belief in their own abilities.

We hope Bayford Primary School enjoys a long and successful working relationship with you and your child.

Should you wish to visit at any time we welcome showing you around our warm and happy school.
